The city proper is supposed to get 1-2 inches. It was rain until about 4:30 this morning and then it changed over. I hope it stops soon.

This bridge has been in the upright position for a long time. The gravel below has turned an orange color. The bridge was our second stop after the Iron Works. This was a really neat bridge

With a warning like that why are we here at the Joliet Iron Works?

Well it was a fine Sunday to be out with a group of photographers. We walked through the Iron Work Ruins and the the I & M Canal itself, stopped to catch a slowly passing Amtrak train. Then went to see a bridge stuck in the UP position. It was then lunch time were we went to the slowest Wendy's I've ever been. These people wouldn't last ten minutes in a Chicago Wendy's.

We then traveled through the back roads and reached a Cemetary. Then the long road home via 80 and 55 to Archer and Harlem and then Archer to Halsted. Left my apartment at 6:13am arrived back at 4:46. What a full and enjoyable day.

Go Humans Go!

So Quaker Oats want's humans to Go! This ad campaign seems to have started last week, and now the CTA's buses, bus shelters, el-trains, city billboards and on top of taxis, are plastered with this slogan. Some are kind of funny like one at the 35th street Red line that has a multi-colored spring and the message "Get a Spring into your step."

I'm not sure if this will make people eat more of the Quaker's products but is sure is funny

Showmens League - Harrys Hotdogs

These are the last days for Harry's Hotdogs and the Showmen's League building.

Harry's Hotdogs has been on this corner since 1946 and he just celebrated his 100th birthday. The building is coming down as well as the two to it's left. They are making way for an open space for the new building at the top of the photo.

How sad, This building looks like it had a personality the new one just blue glass

Another lost weekend! I just got back from Jewel and this downpour started. The weather guy on 7 said Midway already had 3 inches of rain between yesterday and today.
